BRANDING
Cooking has always been a hobby and my domain RecipeStand.com has been around since 2003. It is still a very simple site which my family uses as a recipe repository. The branding is very simple.
WEB DEVELOPMENT
The site has always been in WordPress and has evolved over the past 15+ years. At the moment it is using the Avada theme and for once looks “put-together”. A recipe plugin called Zip Recipes formats each recipe wonderfully and makes them printable without web-clutter.
VIDEO
I created a couple of very basic RecipeStand YouTube videos years ago to demonstrate a crepes recipe and I intend to create more (my video skills have improved!).
SEO
There are plenty of best-practices SEO elements (robots.txt, sitemap.xml, Yoast-installed, alt-tags on images, Google Search Console, etc.) but there are so many recipe websites that we are still essentially only using this site as a recipe repository for friends and family, as the pop-ups on most recipe sites are so annoying.
